Understand your responsibilities, how our services work and where to turn when something needs attention.
1. About these terms
UniqueEye Connect is the online platform of Unique Optical Services, Ghana. These terms cover visitors, patients, authorised family representatives and staff using the platform, including appointment booking, video consultations, messaging, eyewear purchases and digital books.
Read these terms together with our Privacy Policy and the service, price and order information shown before you confirm a booking or purchase. Specific information shown for your transaction forms part of that transaction. These terms do not remove rights that applicable law gives you.
2. Accounts and authorised access
Provide accurate information and keep your contact details current. Keep your password, verification codes, recovery codes and purchase-access links private. Tell the care team promptly if you suspect someone is using your account without permission.
Use only your own account or access that has been expressly authorised. Staff must work within their assigned responsibilities and permissions. Access to a patient record does not permit personal use, unnecessary disclosure or changes outside an authorised workflow.
Where you act for a child, dependent or another person, you must have the appropriate parental, guardian or other lawful authority. Select the correct family profile when booking or sharing information. Access may need to change when a dependent becomes eligible to manage their own account.
3. Eye care and remote consultations
A remote consultation has limits: an optometrist may need an in-person examination, tests or a referral before making a clinical decision. A booking does not guarantee a diagnosis, prescription or particular outcome. Follow the clinician’s instructions and provide complete, accurate symptoms, history and prescription information.
Use a private location, a suitable internet connection and a device with working camera and microphone for video appointments. If a connection fails, return to the appointment or contact the care team for the next step. Do not record or distribute a consultation without the agreement of everyone involved and any consent required by law.
This platform and its message inbox are not emergency services. For an urgent medical problem, seek immediate local medical care rather than waiting for an online reply. General website information and eBooks are educational and do not replace individual clinical advice.
4. Bookings, changes and cancellations
Check the selected patient, service, clinician, location or video method, date, time and fee before confirming. Availability may change until the booking is confirmed. Where payment is required, follow the confirmation steps and check the appointment status.
Use the cancellation action where available, or contact the care team if you need help changing a booking. Cancellation eligibility, any charge and refund eligibility depend on the service terms disclosed when booking and applicable law. Cancelling a booking does not by itself confirm a refund.
If the clinic needs to change or cancel an appointment, contact the team about the available replacement or refund options. Do not make a duplicate payment simply because a confirmation is delayed.
5. Products, prescriptions and custom lenses
Review the product description, selected variant, measurements, availability and price before ordering. Product photographs and screen colours may differ from the physical item. A featured or Optician Pick label identifies a selected product; it is not a clinical recommendation for your particular condition.
For prescription lenses, provide the correct prescription and requested measurements. Do not guess missing values. Ask the care team if a prescription is unclear, out of date or unsuitable. Additional checks or clarification may be needed before a custom order can proceed.
Availability and delivery depend on the item and destination. Review any restrictions or lead times shown for your order. If an item cannot be supplied as agreed, contact the team to resolve the order and any payment due back.
6. Prices and payments
Prices are shown in Ghana cedis (GHS), unless explicitly stated otherwise. Review the total, delivery charges and any other disclosed charges before payment. Payment is handled through the payment options shown at checkout, including Paystack where offered.
A debit notification alone may not mean an order or appointment is confirmed. Check its status and keep the payment reference. If a payment is pending, failed or duplicated, contact the team with the reference rather than sending a payment PIN, full card details or verification code.
We may need to verify a transaction or correct an error before fulfilment. A correction that changes the agreed purchase should be explained to you so you can consider the available options.
7. Delivery, problems and refunds
Provide a complete delivery address and a reachable contact number. Check the delivery estimate and order status; an estimate is not a guarantee unless expressly agreed. Notify the team promptly about an incorrect address, missing parcel, damaged item or incorrect product.
For a return, cancellation or refund request, provide the order or appointment reference and describe the problem. Eligibility is assessed against the transaction terms, the item or service supplied and applicable law. Ask about any conditions for custom lenses or downloaded products before buying; these terms do not impose a blanket no-refund rule.
A submitted refund request is not the same as a completed refund. The payment provider and your bank or mobile-money provider may need time to process an approved refund. Review the refund status or contact the team for an update.
8. eBooks and other digital content
Purchased digital content is for your personal use, subject to the licence and description supplied with the title. Do not resell, publicly distribute, upload or share the files or protected download links without the rights holder’s permission.
Use your library or the authorised purchase-access flow to obtain a fresh link when a download expires. Keep your purchase reference. Contact the team if you paid for content that you cannot access. Educational content is not a substitute for an eye examination.
9. Responsible use and content
Do not harass others, impersonate another person, submit unlawful content, upload malicious files, interfere with the service, bypass access controls or attempt to obtain another person’s information. Do not use automated extraction to collect private records or disrupt the platform.
Share only information and files you have the right to provide. We may process those submissions to deliver the service, support your request and meet applicable obligations, as described in the Privacy Policy. You retain rights you hold in your own submissions.
The platform’s branding, software and original materials remain the property of their respective owners. Using the service does not transfer those rights to you.
10. Availability and account restrictions
The platform may be interrupted by maintenance, connectivity problems or provider outages. Keep a copy of important booking and purchase references and contact the clinic when a time-sensitive service cannot be completed online.
Access may be restricted when needed to investigate misuse, protect accounts or comply with legal requirements. Where appropriate, contact the team to ask for a review. An account restriction does not automatically cancel an existing order, remove lawful refund rights or erase records that must be retained.
11. Responsibility and your legal rights
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you submit and for using the service within your authority. Clinical decisions remain subject to professional responsibilities. Payment, communications and delivery services may also have their own terms.
Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricts mandatory consumer protections or waives professional duties. Any dispute about loss, service quality or a remedy will be considered under the applicable law and the facts of the case.
12. Applicable law and changes
These terms are intended for a service operated in Ghana and are governed by Ghanaian law, subject to any mandatory protections that otherwise apply. Contact Unique Optical Services first to try to resolve a concern; this does not prevent you from approaching a competent court or regulator.
When these terms change, the revised version and its date will be made available here. Material changes should be brought to your attention through an appropriate notice. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights relating to a confirmed transaction.
13. Questions or a problem?
Contact Unique Optical Services with the relevant booking, order or payment reference and a short explanation. Patients can use Messages in their account. If you cannot sign in, use the clinic contact details supplied with your booking, receipt or other clinic correspondence. Do not include passwords, verification codes or payment PINs.
